Here is a story board in more detail of a scene i want to create in my short movie. I find storyboarding useful because it allows me to visualize each scene and it lets me see how i want to capture things, which is time effective and it makes filming easier for the crew and cast.

Script:

Act 1 scene 1

External house shot, day time, establishing shot of house 

Internal shot, JOSH(waking up)

Josh: (alarm-clock rings, yawns, close up on alarm going off, cuts to Josh waking up, back to alarm) Ugh! It’s too early, a new day new me. (getting out of bed depressingly)

Internal panning shot of JOSH leaving room

cut to letter being posted through the letter box lands amongst a pile of letters

cuts back to JOSH

Josh: (to himself depressingly) ah! Great more hate mail! To show how I’m SO perfect.

Internal dolly shot following JOSH entering the bathroom. Cuts to JOSH looking at the mirror

Josh: (depressingly) I’m absolutely sick of this abuse and bullying. (gets emotional. Grabs toothbrush and toothpaste)

Josh: *Mumbles*. (Begins to brush teeth lasts a few seconds) *Phone vibrates*(Josh acts confused then brings phone out of his pocket)

(Text message appears on screen “morning gay boi can’t wait to see u in school!” From unknown)

Josh: *Sighs* Here we go again, can’t wait FOR SCHOOL!

Act 2 Scene 2

Internal panning shot facing stairs josh coming down and picks up his backpack before leaving the house

External panning shot, Josh leaving the house (he is paranoid)

External wide shot, josh walking up the street

Bully 1&2 enter cross the road towards Josh

Bully 1 off camera: Oi josh did you get my text message this morning babe (both bullies laugh)

Josh: (look over to the bullies when they begin to speak, cuts to Josh as he begins to run away and bullies slowly follow after)

Josh: (quickly turns into a street/alley and the bullies run past him hiding)

Josh: (emotional) please don’t find me, please don’t find me…

Bully 2: Where has he gone!

Bully 1: This way I see him

External cuts back to josh sliding down the wall

Josh: I’m sick of this, every day, every night I just want to end it all but that means they would win I can do this, I can beat them it is not impossible. (takes a moment to recover)

Josh: Remember what mam said nothing is impossible, the word itself says I’m possible.

External shows Josh getting up from the floor

Josh: Ah thank god they are gone 

Josh: External shows Josh Walks away from camera

Act 3 Scene 3

A few hours later…

Internal Josh walking back into house

Josh: Well today dragged far too long( throws bag onto the floor)(Sound of notification from ipad or laptop)

Internal cuts to josh walking up the stairs then cuts to show entering his room

Internal panning shot walking to electronical device 

Josh: Oh that’s unusual who is trying to message me

Shows a friend request from a friend from college

Josh: Who is Ariana and why is she trying to follow me? Ah ill accept it what’s the worst that can happen

Josh: Clicks accept and a message comes through saying how she doesn’t approve of the bullies and wants to help.

Josh: Josh reply’s and the conversation continues and eventually ends up in Ariana persuading josh to block the bullies and report them.

Internally cuts to black screen.

The next morning (sound track of birds tweeting)

External house shot, day time, establishing shot of house 

Internal shot, JOSH(waking up)

Josh: (alarm-clock rings, yawns, close up on alarm going off, cuts to Josh waking up, back to alarm) Wonder what today has in store for me. (gets out of bed excited)

cut to no letter being posted through the letter box and josh looks confused and says hmm that’s new ha ha

Josh: Grabs toothbrush and toothpaste (starts humming a song)

Josh: *Phone vibrates*(Josh brings his phone out of his pocket rapidly and reads the message he got sent) (Ariana- can’t wait to see you today bestie)

Josh: Cuts to josh smiling happily(blushing).

(Fades into blackness.)
